Through dedicated efforts by the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, a significant milestone has been achieved at well-2 of Rashidpur Gas field, where Sylhet Gas Fields Limited discovered an impressive reserve of 157 billion cubic feet of natural gas.
Rashidpur Gas Field is a natural gas field located in Habiganj, reports BSS.
The newfound resource has the potential to contribute 8.0 mmcfd of gas to the national grid, with the commencement of supply expected within the next 10 days. The estimated value of the extracted gas from this well is Tk 106.70 billion.
State Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid, shared on his verified Facebook page, "We anticipate delivering more positive news for Bangladesh in the future. The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, places a high priority on oil and gas exploration."
