The officials are Md Saidul Islam, System Analyst of BMET, and Md Saiful Islam, an Office Assistant and Computer Operator of the organisation who is now posted in Technical Training Centre in Barishal.

Ranjit Kumar Karmakar, Assistant Director of the ACC, filed the case with its District Integrated Office in Dhaka-1.

According to the ACC complaint the officials through 'Emigration Management System Software' issued a total of 6938 smart cards in favour of eight recruiting agencies from January 1 in 2020 to May 12 in 2022. However, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment had given permission for 2960 smart cards.
