3 held over killing of 2 schoolboys after kidnapping

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday arrested three people in connection with the killing of two schoolboys after kidnapping in Narayanganj, reports UNB.
The arrested were identified as M Parvez Hossain, 21, M Shah Ali, 22, and M Jahangir, 30.
Quoting victims' family members, Rab sources said the trio kidnapped Md Jahidul Islam, 13, and Sakin Alam, 9, both students of Kanchpur Omar Ali High School, from the Kanchpur bus stand under Sonargaon police station in Narayanganj district on January 21.
Later, the kidnappers demanded ransom from the parents of the victims over phone.
Failing to realise the ransom, the criminals killed Jahidul and Sakin.
Police recovered the slaughtered body of Jahidul kept inside a plastic container from Kanchpur Barogaon embankment on January 22 while that of Sahin was found floating in a water body adjacent to the embankment on January 26.
Contacted, Wing Commander Habibur Rahman, director (Media) of Rab headquarters, said members of Rab-11 arrested Shah Ali and Jahangir conducting a raid on Meghnaghat area of Munshiganj district in the morning.
Later, on the basis of their statement, the elite force members arrested Parvez from a slum at Kanchpur at noon.
During preliminary interrogation, Parvez and Shah Ali confessed to their involvement in the double murder.
