36 gold bars seized at Ctg airport, one held

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 02: Chattogram Customs authorities seized 36 gold bars weighing four kilograms from the possession of a sweeper at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport this morning.

The customs authorities also arrested the sweeper identified as Md Idris in this connection.

Sources said Md Idris came out of a flight that landed at the airport around 11 am.

Officials of the customs department searched his body and recovered the 36 gold bars worth Tk two crores from his shoes.
