43 more school students fall unconscious in 4 dists

At least 43 more students of three high schools in Magura, Bagerhat, Manikganj and Satkhira districts fell unconscious Tuesday morning, triggering panic in those areas, reports UNB.
In Magura, 20 class VIII students of Barishat High School fainted with convulsion almost simultaneously in their classroom around 11am, according to the school authorities.
The students were admitted to Dariapur and Sadar Hospitals. Doctors at the hospitals could not immediately diagnose what caused them to become unconscious.
When contacted, Magura Civil Surgeon Dr Fariduddin confirmed the incident.
The Deputy Commissioner and the Police Super of the district visited the school.
In Bagerhat, 11 students from class-VI to X of Hasina Begum Secondary Girls' School in Chitolmari upazila fell unconscious one after another in their classrooms in the morning.
They were rushed to Chitolmari Upazila Health Complex.
UNO M Abu Sayeed visited the students at the health complex.
A three-member committee with physicians of the health complex has been formed for providing proper treatment to the ailing students.
Besides, the local administration has constituted a medical team to provide quick treatment if any other student anywhere in the district falls sick with the similar syndrome.
Meanwhile, three class VII students of Gobindal Gonapara Model High School in Singair upazila of Manikganj district fainted in their classroom in the morning.
Nasrin, 15, Roksan Ara, 14, Samsunnahar, 14, were rushed to a local hospital after they fell unconscious and then shifted to Dhaka Medical Hospital.
Earlier on July 14, at least 70 students of a high school in Narsingdi fell unconscious in their classrooms with the same syndrome.
