47 examinees, one teacher expelled on the first day of HSC exams

At least 47 examinees and a teacher were expelled on the first day of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Alim and HSC Business Management examinations-2010 Thursday.
The examination began at 10 am across the country. Bangla first paper examination was held on the first day. However, some 6752 examinees remained absent in the first examination.
A total of 7,36,373 examinees are appearing in the examinations from 7,202 educational institutions in 2,037 centres under the ten education boards including that of Madrasah and Technical.
Of the total, 4,00,464 are male and 3,35,909 female candidates. This year the number of examines is 1,14,150 more than that of last year.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid visited several examination centres including Dhaka College in the morning and expressed satisfaction over peaceful holding of the examination.
The minister also talked to guardians waiting outside the centres and sought cooperation from all to hold all the examinations in a copy-free and peaceful environment.
