60pc bus tickets sold in advance ahead of Eid

FE Report brAt least 60 per cent of the tickets of premium bus services operating to and from Dhaka have been sold in advance for the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, bus operators said Wednesday.brThey, however, said there is no ticket of the luxury coaches available for September 29 and 30 as those have already sold in advance. Tickets are only available for September 25, 26, 27 and 28. brExclusive buses ply mainly on Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Cox's Bazar, Dhaka-Sylhet and Dhaka-Khulna routes. brWe have sold at least 60 per cent tickets in advance. The tickets once sold can not be returned or changed, said a salesman of Greenline coach service at Arambagh office Wednesday. brThe luxury coach service started selling tickets at the beginning of the Ramadan month. brMore than 20,000 passengers are expected to leave Dhaka during the five day period by the luxury buses, including Mercedes Benz, bus operators said. brThe luxury bus services are Greenline, Silkline, Shohag, Neptune, Saudia- S Alam, Baghdad Express and Neptune. br But, bus operators said, the main rush of passengers will be on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route. The rush will continue even after the Eid celebration, they added.brMany bus operators have already started selling tickets in advance for the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar.brAround 100 buses will leave Dhaka for Cox's Bazar each day after Eid Day. brOne salesman at Saudia-S Alam told the FE that they were yet to start selling tickets for Cox's Bazar route adding We will start selling from September 12 next. brHowever, a salesman at Baghdad Express, which also introduced Mercedes Benz on Dhaka-Chittagong route told the FE that they could provide tickets only for September 25, 26 and 27. brHe also said We are not booking any ticket over phone.br
