A total of 665 taxpayers at the national and district level would be honoured with tax cards for their outstanding contribution to the public exchequer.
Of the taxpayers, 140 would receive tax cards under individual, company and other categories while 525 would get 'Top Taxpayers Award' at the city corporation and district level.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has issued two separate Statutory Regulatory Orders (SROs) on November 30, 2023 and December 2, 2023 with the names of the winners.
The taxpayers have been selected from across the country on the basis of their tax payment in the tax year 2022-2023.
Officials said the NBR would hand over the award and tax cards to the taxpayers on December 20, 2023 at a programme at the city's Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).
Of 54 companies, three are banks---Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, Standard Chartered Bank, BRAC Bank, Dutch Bangla Bank, Eastern Bank PLC.
