67 RMG workers sacked over vandalism

SAVAR, July 4 (UNB): The authorities of a garment factory here sacked 67 of its workers on Saturday morning over vandalism and arson attack in the name of movement.
The authorities of FCI (BD) Garments Limited in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) put up a notice on the board giving the names and photos of the accused 67 workers.
Security guards of the factory also obstructed them while they were trying to enter the factory.
Police also chased them when the agitated workers staged a demonstration in front of the factory over it.
Earlier on June 31, the demonstrating workers got locked into an altercation with a group of workers supporting the authorities that triggered a clash, leaving five people injured.
