Bahrain police have rounded up eight men in connection with a knife attack on a Bangladeshi expatriate, said a leading English daily of the country Thursday.
It said quoting sources that they could face a charge of attempted murder after Bangladeshi Rashad Allauddin, 31, suffered serious stab wounds on his right forearm.
Officers arrested three men the same night and have since arrested another five in raids across Manama, they added.
Mr Allauddin required emergency surgery at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) to repair damaged muscles in his forearm.
He was allegedly attacked during a drunken argument after saying he had no money to buy drinks.
"When Mr Allauddin attempted to make a getaway, he was allegedly caught by the group and stabbed by one of them," sources said.
