A new 233-metre bridge is under construction on Turag River

A new 233-metre bridge is under construction on Turag River at Amin Bazar point on Dhaka-Aricha highway, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion to and from the capital. The eight-lane bridge includes link roads on both sides and is a project running parallel to the existing Amin Bazar bridge. The current four-lane Amin Bazar bridge, built in 1971, is struggling to manage the increasing traffic flow from northern and northwestern districts into Dhaka.
