The government has amended the ride sharing guideline, allowing any vehicle to get enlisted with more than one company.
However, the vehicles will have to pay additional registration fee for being enlisted with each company, according to a provision incorporated into the Ride Sharing Service Guideline 2017, which is available in the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.
The Road Transport and Highways Division has brought the changes in the guideline in the wake of demand made by car owners who have been operating their vehicles under a single ride sharing company.
Currently, more than 120,000 cars and motorcycles are enlisted with different app-based ride sharing companies.
