ACC chairman meets CJ, AG

The chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Sunday had separate meetings with the Chief Justice, the Attorney General and the Law Secretary, and reportedly had discussions on the constitution of separate benches to dispose of the graft cases at the higher court.
ACC Chairman Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury met separately with Chief Justice M Ruhul Amin and Attorney General Fida M Kamal in their offices while Law Secretary Kazi Habibul Awal came to the ACC office to have a meeting with the ACC chairman. The topics of the discussions in these meetings could not be known immediately.
When approached by reporters on his arrival to the Commission after meetings with the Chief Justice and the Attorney General, Mashhud did not say anything in this connection.When contacted, Attorney General Kamal also said it was a courtesy call. On the other hand, Law Secretary Awal, after meeting Mashhud, said noting to the reporters before getting into his car. But, a highly placed source told the news agency that during the meetings with the Chief Justice and the Attorney General, the ACC chairman spoke of the need of constituting separate benches at the High Court for disposing of the cases relating to the ACC.
