ACC sues 10 people


The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday filed a case against 10 people including a former chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) for their connection in illegally allocating 50.57 katha lands.
The former chairman of RDA Tapan Chandra Majumder, in collusion with other accused, allocated the land to several individuals divided into eight commercial plots at Chandrima Residential Area in Rajshahi city, said ACC public relations official Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee. Md Al-Amin, assistant director of ACC integrated district office (IDO) in Rajshahi filed the case in this regard with the IDO on that day.
Other accused are - former estate officer of RDA Abu Bakar Siddique, former accountant of RDA Md Rustam Ali, lower division assistant of RDA Mostak Ahmed, plot recipients Enamul Haque, Abu Raihan Shoyeb Ahmed Siddique, Dr SM Khodeja Nahar Begum, Dr Rabiul Islam Shwapan, Khairul Alam and Managing Director of Aesthetic Design and Development Limited Mahfuzul Haque.
According to the case statement, the RDA officials, defying public procurement rules and without discussing the issue of plot allocation at RDA general meeting allocated the piece of land.
