The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to take assistance from the Malaysian government for a joint investigation into illegal investment by Bangladeshis in the name of second home there.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed in this connection by June, said ACC Commissioner (Investigation) Md Shahabuddin on Wednesday.
"All who have taken Malaysia as the second home are high profile people. We have some information in this connection. It will be easier for us to work once the MoU is signed," he said while addressing a view-exchange meeting with the owners and chief executives of different electronic media.
ACC organised the view-exchange meet with the owners and the chief executives of broadcasting media ahead of observing corruption prevention week.
Among others, ACC Chairman Md Badiuzzaman, Commissioner Dr Nasir Uddin and top officials of different TV channels were present. Shahabuddin said, "We are trying to sign the agreement with Malaysia in this connection as both the countries are the members of several international anti-corruption watchdogs."
