Advisory council for successful implementation of decision

The advisory council of the interim government issued Saturday a directive to all concerned for successfully implementing the decision on the separation of judiciary from the executive department.
The much-talked-about the separation of judiciary from the executive will be effective from November 1, the meeting was informed, an official handout said.
Presided over by the Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed, the weekly meeting of the advisers' council was held at his office.
The meeting was also apprised of the latest situation about the separation of judiciary.
Law Adviser Mainul Hosein and law secretary informed the council about the background of the separation process of the judiciary, and also the progresses that had been made in its different stages.
Meanwhile, additional district and sessions judges, and joint district and sessions judges have already been appointed as chief judicial magistrates under the new provision for the separation of the judiciary from the executive.
Besides, the orientation programme for the chief judicial magistrates has already been held.
However, the meeting of the advisers' council expressed its satisfaction over the law and order situation persisting across the country during the ongoing 'Durga Puja' festival, the handout mentioned.
