After four days of deathless record, Bangladesh registered a death due to the Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.
With the death, the death toll due to the respiratory disease caused by the virus stands at 29,123, according to director general of health services (DGHS).
Simultaneously, some 61 more people were tested positive, taking the entire number of infections to 1,951,831 since the virus first detected on March 08, 2020.
A total of 7,778 samples were tested in 879 labs across the country in the 24-hour period yielding a daily positivity rate of 0.78 per cent.
Another 842 people recovered from Covid-19 across during the same period, taking the total recovery to 1,884,352.
The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.54 per cent and the mortality rate at 1.49 per cent.
