AL now threatening to snatch voters' civil rights: Rizvi

Ruling Awami League candidates and their supporters are now threatening to snatch the voters' civil rights unless they go to polling centres on the day of the 12th parliamentary election, alleged BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday.
Even the voters are being intimidated that they would lose their rights to enter mosques and graveyards, he alleged.
"The mafia gang has now started a voter hunting mission to ensure presence of voters on the polls day," he said.

The BNP leader came up with the remarks at a virtual press conference on Friday evening.
Not only voters but also many candidates and media outlets have already lost their interest in the upcoming so-called 'dummy' vote, he said.
Criticising Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal, the BNP leader said the CEC indirectly acknowledged that the previous polls were rigged.
"Whoever is involved in the one-sided dummy election will have to face trial one day," said Mr Rizvi.
Earlier on Friday morning, joining a leaflet distribution programme in the city's Dhanmondi area, he said, "An illegal, mock and an 'imitation' election is going to be held on January 7."
The BNP and like-minded political parties have been observing mass contact and holding leaflet distribution programme to back the ongoing non-cooperation movement against the government.
Rizvi said a neighbouring country is directly interfering to hold a fake election in Bangladesh.
Criticising the government, he said: "You are forcing them to interfere by trading off the independence and sovereignty of the country".
