Another Boeing aircraft joins Biman

Another brand new Boeing aircraft named 'Ranga Prabhat' has joined the Biman Bangladesh Airlines fleet.

The Boeing 777-300ER, the fourth aircraft of this kind acquired by the national flag carrier, reached the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Sunday afternoon, sources said.

The aircraft was received by Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Chairman of Biman Board of Directors Air Marshal (Retd) Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Biman Managing Director Kevin Steele, and board member Advocate Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Saturday, and started its journey from Seattle, USA.

The third Boeing 777-300 'Akash Pradip' joined the Biman fleet last month.

In 2008, the Biman signed a contract with the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing to purchase 10 aircraft by 2019.

In accordance with the contract, four Boeing 777-300ER aircraft have so far joined the Biman fleet while two are scheduled to join the fleet later next
