Another boy killed in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, Aug 19 (Agencies): Amid furore over the recent murders of children in Bangladesh, a 12-year-old has died from injuries he sustained one week ago when he was beaten with a metal rod.

Mohammad Ramjan died at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Tuesday night; eight days after the owner of a shop where he worked in Lakshmipur beat him.

Ramjan was the son of Kajal Islam of Banchhanagar village in Lakshmipur municipality.

The child worker has been beaten to death allegedly by his employer over destroying liquid milk in the district town.

Quoting victim's parents Tajul Islam and Shukkuri Begum, police said Ramjan Ali used to work as a porter in the local bazaar.
