Army chief distributes relief among flood victims in Demra

Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed Saturday visited the flood-affected area in Demra on the eastern outskirts of the capital and distributed relief among the flood victims, reports UNB.
The Army Chief inquired about condition of the flood victims of Amulia area and handed over relief goods to 60 distressed families.
In an address to the flood victims, near Amulia Model Town, he said, "The government has started work for preparing seedbeds on 500 acres of land, which will be distributed among the farmers free of costs after the floods."
He also distributed relief among 900 flood-affected families there, said an ISPR release.
High officials of local administration and Commander of the 14 Independent Engineer Brigade Brigadier General Nizam Ahmed were present on the occasion.
