'Attack' on cops: Physically challenged Tara Mia gets HC bail

The High Court Division on Wednesday granted a six-week bail to Tara Mia, a physically-challenged man who lives on alms, in a case filed for 'attacking' police in Jamalganj upazila of Sunamganj on December 28 last, reports UNB.

The HC bench of Justice Md Rais Uddin and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain also granted bail to 49 other people in the case for the same period.

Barrister Md Abidul Haque, who along with Advocate Saiful Islam stood for the accused in the case, said the court asked them to surrender before the Sunamganj lower court on expiry of their bail. "I told the court that Tara Mia is one of the examples of fictitious and illegal cases filed across the country," he said.
