FE Report
Moderate to dense mist persisted and occasional chilly wind lashed across the country Wednesday disrupting communications and affecting normal life of the people.
Officials of the Meteorological department said moderate to deep fog has blanketed the western and central regions of the country.
In the capital, the normal life and economic activities were partially disrupted. City-dwellers, particularly office-goers and school-children, had to face difficulties in finding transports in the cold weather. Flight operations to and from Zia International Airport were as usual. Launch operation on different river routes was unaffected.
Met office said weather remained gloomy for the next two to three days because of the impact of a westerly low. But temperatures are not likely to fall further, said an official of the Met office.
The country's lowest temperature was recorded 12.5 degrees Celsius in Srimangal and the highest 14.5 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi Wednesday, according to met office.
In the capital city, the lowest temperature was registered at 16.5 degrees Celsius.
The met office said that moderate to thick fog might continue to persist in the north, west and central regions and the river basins.
