Bangladesh, EU to form JEC

A Joint Economic Commission (JEC) will be formed between Bangladesh and the European Union (EU) with a view to increasing mutual financial assistance, reports BSS.
An EU delegation headed by its Ambassador Pierre Mayaudon informed Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury of the matter after paying a courtesy call at the latter's Jatiya Sangsad (JS) office.
Pierre hoped that the JEC will help Bangladesh to boost its economy .
Describing the EU as one of the development partners, Dr Shirin said, "The commission will start its functioning soon and play a special role for the development of Bangladesh."
They exchanged views of mutual interests during the meeting.
Hailing the EU for its significant role to the overall development at different sectors such as social, economic, and commerce, the Speaker also hoped that such assistances will continue in the days to come.
