Banks, bourses closed tomorrow

All branches of the scheduled banks and the Bangladesh Bank (BB) will remain closed in Dhaka North, South and Chittagong city corporation areas on Tuesday the polling day as a public holiday was declared.

Trading and official activities at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) would also remain closed tomorrow (Tuesday) for City Corporation Elections, officials said.

"Trading and official activities of Dhaka Stock Exchange will remain closed on April 28, 2015 (Tuesday) since Government has declared April 28, 2015 as General Holiday for City Corporation Election," said a statement posted on the DSE website.

A CSE web post said, "All concerned are hereby informed that the CSE offices will remain closed on Tuesday, 28 April 2015 since Government has declared 28 April 2015 as General Holiday for City Corporation Election. Therefore, there will be no trade on 28 April 2015".

The normal trading would resume on April 29 (Wednesday), officials said.
