Commercial banks in the city witnessed a heavy rush of clients Sunday following the student unrest and the weekly holidays.
Clients were seen standing in long queues at many branches of the banks in different parts of the city, including Motijheel and Dilkusha, either to deposit or withdraw their money.
Some branches even faced liquidity pressure due to the huge withdrawal of money, a banker told the FE.
Earlier normal transactions were disrupted Wednesday and Thursday due to the student unrest that spread across the city as well as elsewhere affecting life and businesses.
