At least five family members of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir left the country Thursday night on a chartered flight.
The family members included Mr Anvir's wife Sabrina Sobhan, two children of the couple, Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir's wife Yeasha Sobhan and their daughter.
Besides, three other persons (domestic workers) also boarded the chartered flight, director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan told the media.
They left for Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai at around 8:55 pm, he said.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), the individuals had all required documents to fly.
The aircraft is operated by Sku Solution Limited, a company of Bashundhara Group.
Bashundhara Group Managing Director is the prime accused in an abetting suicide case filed with Gulshan Police Station on early Tuesday.
The case was filed following a suspected suicide of Mosarat Jahan Munia, a second-year college student, who was found hanging from the ceiling in her rented flat in the capital's Gulshan-2 area on Monday night.
Following the death, Munia's elder sister Nusrat Jahan filed a case under Section 306 of the Penal Code accusing Mr Anvir of 'abetting the suicide'.
