Faria Yasmin

Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited has named Faria Yasmin as its new managing director - marking the first time in the company's 63-year history in Bangladesh that a woman will lead its operations.
Ms. Faria will officially assume her new role on November 20, succeeding Debabrata Mukherjee, who will leave the company to join another multinational firm as managing director, the company said in a statement on Monday.
She brings over 23 years of experience in brand marketing, portfolio management, and business leadership across Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Before joining Bata, Ms. Faria served as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) at ACI Limited, one of the country's leading conglomerates. She also held senior leadership positions at Reckitt Benckiser, Marico, and Nestlé during her career.
She will be the company's first-ever female managing director and the first Bangladeshi to hold the position since the country's independence, according to a company official.
Before 1971, a Bangladeshi national had once led Bata's local operations, though not in the capacity of managing director, the official added.
