The central bank has asked the commercial banks to remit Saudi Riyal 6,800 for house rent, food and other expenses of each of the pilgrims who will go to Hajj under private management, officials said.
On Sunday, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular in this regard, asking the commercial banks to take necessary measures.
"We've issued the directive in line with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' advice," a BB senior official told the FE correspondent.
The government has already allowed disbursing the amount of Saudi currency for each pilgrim to meet their expenses in the ensuing Holy Hajj.
He also said the banks are allowed for remitting the amount of riyals in accordance with the existing financial rules and regulations.
