People will no longer require to go through a time-consuming manual process to get return from their investments in savings certificates, as the Bangladesh Bank (BB) has introduced e-payment of interest and principal amounts of all savings instruments, reports BSS.
The central bank said on Thursday it had started payment of interest and the principal amounts of savings certificates directly to the bank accounts of their owners through the electronic fund transfer (EFT) system.
The central bank asked all banks to make necessary arrangement to transfer interest and principal amounts of savings certificates to their respective client accounts through the EFT.
