Bangladesh has made a modest gain in global travel mobility, climbing five places to rank 95th in the Henley Passport Index 2026.

The improvement reflects a slight expansion in visa-free and visa-on-arrival access for Bangladeshi passport holders, even as the country remains among the lower-ranked passports worldwide.

The latest index underscores both progress and persistent limitations, positioning Bangladesh ahead of several regional peers while highlighting the wide gap that remains between its passport strength and those of the world's top-ranked countries.

According to the latest global ranking, the Bangladeshi passport provides visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 37 destinations.

North Korea and Palestine are ranked one place higher, each with a visa-free score of 38.

The ranking places Bangladesh as the world's seventh weakest passport, although it remains ahead of Nepal (96th), Pakistan (98th), and Afghanistan (101st) within South Asia.
