BD Covid cases take downtrend, with zero death

The number of daily Covid-19 cases and the virus test positivity rate showed a downtrend in Bangladesh on Wednesday.
Twenty-two Covid-19 cases were reported on the day with its infection rate at 0.44 per cent on the day, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were 32 and 0.75 per cent respectively on Tuesday. The DGHS also recorded zero death from the coronavirus on the day. With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,127 while the total caseload crossed 1.95 million in Bangladesh since the virus was detected in Bangladesh.
During the last 24-hour reporting time, 5,001 samples were tested while 4,890 samples were collected across the country.
A total of 241 more people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time, according to the DGDH data. The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 97.29 per cent on the day.
However, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 remained static at 1.49 per cent. So far, over 14 million samples have been tested in the country.
