BD daily Covid cases up, with zero fatality

Both the daily Covid-19 cases and the virus test positivity rate showed upwards in Bangladesh on Friday.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported 50 Covid-19 cases and its infection rate at 0.79 per cent on the day against the previous day's 35 and 0.60 per cent respectively.

The DGHS also recorded zero death from the coronavirus on Friday.

With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,127 while the total caseload crossed 1.95 million in Bangladesh since the virus was detected in Bangladesh.

During the last 24-hour reporting time, some 6,313 samples were tested while 6,315 samples were collected across the country.

A total of 221 more people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time, according to the DGDH data.

The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 97.31 per cent on the day.

However, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 remained static at 1.49 per cent.

So far, over 14 million samples have been tested in the country.
