BD daily Covid death nil, fresh cases at 18

Daily Covid-19 caseload and its test positivity rate declined further on Friday with the health authorities reporting zero fatality from the virus in Bangladesh.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported 18 Covid-19 cases and its infection rate at 0.45 per cent on the day.

The figures were 51 new virus cases and 0.89 per cent respectively on Thursday.

With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,127 since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020.

A total of 4,004 samples were tested while 5,053 samples were collected across the country during the last 24 hours.

A total of 327 people recovered from the coronavirus disease during the last 24-hour reporting time, the DGDH data revealed.

The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 97.23 per cent on the day.

However, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 remained static at 1.49 per cent.

The total Covid-19 cases have neared 1.95 million in Bangladesh and more than 1.89 million of them recovered.

Over 14 million of samples have been tested so far in the country since March 2020.
