BD logs 43 new Covid cases, zero death

Bangladesh reported 43 Covid-19 cases with the virus test positivity rate inching down to 0.54 per cent on Sunday.

The Covid-19 infection rate was 0.89 per cent on Saturday.

However, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported zero death from coronavirus during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on the day.

With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid-19 reached 29,118 since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020.

Some 7,971 samples were tested during the last 24-hour reporting time while 7,994 samples were collected during the period.

On the other hand, a total of 673 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time, said the DGHS press release.

The rate of recovery was 96.23 per cent on the day, it added.

On the other hand, the rate of fatalities from coronavirus disease remained static at 1.49 per cent.

According to the official data, the total Covid-19 cases have crossed 1.95 million in Bangladesh and 1.877 million of them recovered from the deadly disease.

Meanwhile, more than 13.78 million samples have been tested so far.
