Both Covid-19 caseload and its test positivity rate dropped in Bangladesh with the authorities reporting zero death from the virus on Tuesday.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), thirty-six Covid-19 cases were recorded while the virus test positivity rate declined to 0.52 per cent on the day. The figures were 61 and 0.78 per cent respectively on Monday.
With the latest daily counts, total death toll from coronavirus reached 29,123 since the virus was first detected in Bangladesh in March 2020.
A total of 6,885 samples were tested while 6,836 samples were collected across the country during the last 24 hours.
However, some 899 more people had recovered from the Covid-19 during the last 24-hour reporting time.
The rate of recovery from the coronavirus disease was reported at 96.59 per cent on the day.
On the other hand, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 remained static at 1.49 per cent.
According to the DGHS data, the total Covid-19 caseload exceeded 1.95 million and more than 1.88 million of them recovered in the country.
However, nearly 13.85 million samples have been tested so far in the country since March 2020.
