BD passes another day with zero Covid death

Bangladesh witnessed another deathless day with recording some 102 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours till Friday morning.

Of the latest infections, Dhaka district, including the metropolitan city, alone accounted for 73, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin.

A total of 9,932 samples were tested in 879 labs across the country in the 24-hour period yielding a daily positivity rate of 1.03 per cent.

A total of 1,268 people recovered during the same period, taking the total recoveries to 1,876,148.

The entire numbers of infection stands at 1,951,174 while the total death toll due to the respiratory disease caused by the virus stands at 29,118. The fatality rate stands at 1.49 per cent.

On the other hand, an estimated 13.77 million samples were tested across the country since the detection of the deadly virus on March 8, 2020.
