BD records three new Covid deaths, 82 fresh cases

Bangladesh reported three deaths from Covid-19 and 82 new virus cases on Sunday, official data revealed.
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from Covid reached 29,117 in Bangladesh since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Some 9,082 samples were tested during the last 24 hours until 8:0am on Sunday.
However, the Covid-19 test positivity rate was recorded at 0.90 per cent on the day, which was slightly up from the previous day's 0.83 per cent, the DGHS data revealed.
On the other hand, a total of 837 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time.
The rate of recovery was 95.85 per cent on the day, the DGHS figures showed.
On the other hand, the rate of fatalities from coronavirus disease remained static at 1.49 per cent.
According to the official data, the total Covid-19 cases have exceeded 1.95 million in Bangladesh and over 1.87 million of them have recovered from the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, nearly 13.72 million samples have also been tested in the country so far.
