Bergman punished for contempt of court

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 sentenced on Tuesday journalist and blogger David Bergman to imprisonment for committing contempt of court, reports BSS.

The tribunal handed down him simple imprisonment till the rising of the court on the day and fined him Tk 5,000 or seven days' imprisonment.

"He is to suffer simple imprisonment till the rising of the court and pay fine of Taka five thousand only, in default to suffer seven more days imprisonment," said Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT-2.
