FE Report
A DC-10-30 aircraft of state-run Biman Bangladesh Airlines has remained grounded at Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia in the past five days due to a major technical problem, Biman official told the FE.
Biman's schedule BG035 flight was grounded on September 28 after faults were detected at its right landing gear, the official confirmed.
The grounding of DC-10, which flies to mid-haul destinations like Middle East and Fareast, has put Biman's schedule in a disorder.
Several flights have been delayed or suspended due to the aircraft shortage, a Biman official told the FE.
Managing Director and CEO of the national flag carrier Air Commodore (Retd) M Zakiul Islam, however, assured that the repair work is underway.
"Biman's engineers are trying to fix the problem by replacing the faulty parts of grounded plane," he added.
