Biman Board of Directors reconstituted

The government has reconstituted the Board of Directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines with Mustafa Kamal Uddin, a former senior secretary of the home ministry, as its chairman for the second consecutive term.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Monday issued a circular in this regard.

The board has been formed as per Section 38 of the Article of Association of Biman Bangladesh Airlines under the Companies Act, 1994. Representatives from state and private sectors have been included in the 13-director board.

Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, secretary of the Finance Division, secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, secretary of the Maritime Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), assistant chief of Air Staff (Operations), engineer-in-chief of the Army, president of the BGMEA, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Tanjib-ul Alam, Managing Director of The Computers Limited Khondkar Atique-e-Rabbani and CEO & Managing Director of Biman have been made directors of the newly-formed board.
