Biman DC 10 lands at Ctg airport with a flap missing

CHITTAGONG, May 2: An international flight of Biman Bangladesh airlines, the national flag carrier, on Saturday landed at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport with a missing flap, a part of the wing of the aircraft.
Airport officials said, BG-022 of a DC 10 of Biman arrived from Muscat airport of the Middle East with 306 passengers and landed at 9.00 am in Chittagong airport.
Meanwhile local people of Patiya upazila informed the police and the Chittagong airport authorities that a flap of the wing of a Biman aircraft was found lying on the Patiya AJ Chowdhury College ground.
Prior to that the civil aviation officials collected could not guess the flap of a wing was missing. They collected it from the local police at about 6.00 pm and the aircraft left the airport for Dhaka.
Station manager Bazlul Karim Solaimany said the Dhaka bound passengers were transferred to another Biman flight that had left Chittagong at about 5.00 pm yesterday.
