bKash agents shot, stabbed

Muggers allegedly snatched Tk 5.0 million after shooting and stabbing two bKash agents in Tongi area of Gazipur on Saturday evening.

The incident took place around 7:15 pm on Anarkali Road in Tongi, reports UNB.

bKash sales representative Arif Hossain, 27, was shot in the chest, while his colleague Azad Hossain, 29, was stabbed with a sharp weapon.

Locals said the two were heading to a bKash agent office named J & Sons at Sena Kalyan Bhaban in Tongi Bazar after collecting cash from bKash agent shops in Tongibazar and nearby areas. When their motorcycle reached the middle of Anarkali Road, three assailants on another motorcycle stopped them and attempted to snatch a bag containing cash.

During the attack, the miscreants shot Arif and stabbed Azad before fleeing with the bag of money.

Hearing their screams, locals rushed them to Tongi Government Hospital. Arif was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, while Azad was released after receiving first aid.
