Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will stage demonstration across the country today (Wednesday) alongside the ongoing transport blockade demanding immediately returning the missing party leaders and activists to their families.
BNP that is leading the 20-party alliance, in a statement issued Tuesday by its Joint Secretary General Barkatullah Bulu, said hundreds of leaders and activists of the alliance were picked up by law enforcement agencies from their homes and made them victims to enforced disappearance.
"And such growing incidents shocked the whole nation," the statement said urging the government and law enforcement agencies to end the drama over the disappearance of BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed by returning him to his family.
It also called upon leaders and activists of the alliance to observe protest procession peacefully in each district, upazila and municipality on the day.
