BNP will hold a protest rally at Muktangan and bring out a procession tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm, reports bdnews24.com.
The main opposition's secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain announced the programme Thursday from a meeting convened to mourn the deaths of 5 BNP activists in Sirajganj train accident.
Saturday's programme also comes a day after a High Court verdict ordering BNP chief Khaleda Zia to vacate her cantonment residence. Delwar said the programme was meant to protest the ruling government's repression, harassment and politicisation of the bureaucracy and judiciary.
Urging BNP leaders and activists for making the programme a success, Delwar said that BNP would not tolerate the government's activities without resistance.
Chaired by Selima Rahman, BNP standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Moyeen Khan, advisory council members Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, AZM Zahid Hossain and joint-secretary general Mizanur Rahman were also present at the meeting held in the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
