The government has increased the maximum retail price (MRP) of bottled soybean oil by Tk 7.0 to Tk 205 a litre. The commerce ministry on Thursday gave the seal of approval on new prices of edible oils.
On May 05, 2022, the Bangladesh Edible Oil Refining and Vegetable Growers Association increased the price of bottled soybean oil by Tk 38 to Tk 198 per litre.
The commerce ministry fixed the MRP of a five-litre soybean oil jar at Tk 997, up from Tk 985.
The MRP of loose soybean oil has also been fixed at Tk 185 per litre from Tk 180 per litre, while the price of super palm oil has been fixed at Tk 158 per litre.
The new prices will be effective soon, according to a commerce ministry press release.
