BSTI files cases against 25 brickfields, 6 food industries

BSTI filed cases against 25 brickfields and six food producing industries in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court of Comilla on Sunday for violating the BSTI Ordinance, reports UNB.

The cases have been filed following a drive in Comilla Sadar (South), Laksam, Nangolkot and Chouddagram upazilas by the BSTI, Chittagong branch, says a BSTI press release.

Of the total number of brick fields against whom cases were filed, 12 are in Chouddagram, nine in Nangolkot while four others in Laksam and Comilla Sadar (South).

Among the six food producing industries, five are situated in Laksam while one in Comilla Sadar (South).

BSTI's assistant director (CM) KM Hanif, field officer (CM) M Mostak Ahmed and field officer (CM) M Delwar Hossain conducted a three-day drive from January 28.
