Candidates to get spl opportunity, says Milon

Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today announced that Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination candidates who missed any examination due to adverse weather or other unavoidable circumstances will be given a special opportunity to sit for the missed subjects, reports BSS.
The minister said the affected candidates would be allowed to take the examinations alongside the postponed examinations of the Chattogram Education Board, using the same question papers.
"The examinations will be held on the dates and times to be fixed by the Ministry of Education," he said.
Milon made the announcement in a statement under Rule 300 of the Rules of Procedure in the Jatiya Sangsad today.
The minister said a total of 1,270,583 candidates are taking part in the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations at 2,697 examination centres across the country.
He said examinations under the Chattogram Education Board in five districts -- Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachhari, Rangamati and Bandarban -- were postponed due to heavy rainfall and inclement weather.
Milon said, apart from the Chattogram Education Board, a number of candidates in Dhaka and several other districts were also unable to attend examinations because of adverse weather and other unavoidable reasons.
