As many as 220 Chhatra League activists were accused in a case filed on Sunday for brutally attacking and injuring students who participated in a peaceful movement in Dhaka University (DU) during this year's mass uprising, which ultimately turned into a against the former Awami League regime.
This is the filing of the second case against Chhatra League activists at Shahbag Police Station, led by the participants of the Anti Discrimination Student Movement in the DU.
"Awami League and Chhatra League brutally attacked and injured the peaceful movement of students on July 15, it was witnessed by all," Arman Hossain said, who filed the recent case.
"We filed another case accusing 220, including the main instigators of the movement," according to Abdul Quader, a student who joined the mass movement. The first case was filed on October 21.
Saddam Hossain, Chhatra League president, Sheikh Wali Asif Inan, general secretary, Mazharul Kabir Shayan, DU chhatra league president, and Tanveer Hasan Saikat, general secretary are mentioned as accused in the recent case filed.
Khalid Munsur, OC at Shahbag police station, said, "We have received a complaint. The matter is under investigation, the case is under process."
