CHITTAGONG, Dec 2: Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) president Mahbubul Alam said the authority's instruction to suspend gas supply to industrial units two days a week was not acceptable.
He made the comment when Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Co Ltd managing director MAK Chowdhury met him at his office on the day. CCCI vice president Syed Jamal Ahmed, director Ohid Siraj Chowdhury and GM (planning and development) of the KGDCL Engineer Dhurjati Prasad Dev were also present.
Very recently the KGDCL authority instructed the industries in Chittagong to suspend gas consumption two days a week.
The KGDCL instruction would cast a negative impact on the growth of industrialisation in the region, especially in the event of re-rolling mills and other major industries, the CCCI chief added. pankajdastider@gmail.com
